Near the end of the first day of our road trip, we stopped again near Battle Mountain, NV. Battle Mountain is home to an annual chukar hunting tournament and that is something I’d love to check out someday. Of course at this time of year there is no hunting but Patty and I weren’t deterred.
We checked out a few interesting spots just south of town including the Copper Basin Mountain Bike Trail trailhead. Eventually, we just headed out into the desert. Patty ran to his heart’s content. He cooled down in a stream, still running in this wet spring, and then we headed back to the truck.
