On the second day of our road trip, Patty and I stopped to explore some wide open lands just east of the Craters of the Moon National Monument in southeastern Idaho. We were cruising along State Route 26 enjoying the dessert scenery when I noticed a BLM sign that said, “Pagari Bridge.”
After turning off the highway we found our way, via the bridge and across the Little Wood River, into the vast dessert beyond. A few miles further down the two-track road I decided to stop and that’s where Patty and I spent the next couple of hours.
When we were done, we returned to the highway and continued east to the Craters of the Moon. The lava beds there are incredible in their own right but Patty and I enjoyed that Little Wood River area even more.
